An imaginary friend is created by a little girl. The imaginary friend loves the little girl and stays with her all throughout her childhood. However, as the girl become older, the imaginary friend realizes she is calling for them less and less. They also notice that other imaginary friends have slowly faded away as their children stopped believing in them. Desperate to not be forgotten by their girl, the imaginary friend makes a wish on a star to become “real” enough not to fade away. The star grants their wish, and the imaginary friend can now interact with the real world. However, only their girl can see them.
The girl grows into a teenager and the imaginary friend is still around. People begin to think the girl is crazy because she is the only one that can see the imaginary friend. The imaginary friend decides to pull a prank one day and when it backfires, the girl is blamed. The girl tries to explain the imaginary friend’s actions, but nobody believes her and she’s taken to a asylum against her will.
The girl yells at the imaginary friend and tells them that she never wants to see them again. Heartbroken the imaginary friend wanders off, wondering if they should have just faded away like they were supposed to.
