Of Shades and Primaries: Violet

A collection of poems I made back when I had a fixation on colors and the personalities and meanings associated with them. This is the final one.

Violet

I am one of the Secondaries

Oh thank God we’re almost done with these formalities!

But what to do while you’re here? You did come from Orange so how about yoga to relax?

It relieves stress, making it melt like wax

Afterwards, perhaps a bit of meditation

It restores inner harmony and restores us to our perfect stations

You can say that I’m the individual, creative one of the group

I’ve never been one to follow the troup

People say I’m powerful because of this, because I go my own way without fear

Why wouldn’t I? With spiritual guidance, my future is clear.

However, I do not want to leave others behind

I’m quite fond of helping those who are in a bind

I find it easy to feel other’s pain

I feel I can assist them, even those who are looked upon with disdain

But just like the others, I have my faults

My impracticality shows a lot in my schmaltz

I’m sometimes moody and arrogant

I’m also secretive to my detriment

The luxurious cape of the king that wears it

Pleasure to meet you, I’m VIOLET
