What I Learned reading The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes:

1. Being able to read and gaining knowledge from reading is freeing, comforting, and subversive.
2. Though life is difficult, having a group of friends you can count on makes it worthwhile and help you persevere.
3. Life doesn’t always go the way you expect, sometimes it becomes better.
