I recently read The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen. I decided to read the fairy tale in part because I play Fate Grand Order in my spare time and he’s one of the characters I like. I also read it because I hadn’t read it as a child. Of course I’ve watched the Disney version and the Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child version, but I’ve never read the story myself. I guess it’s also fitting since the Disney live action version also came out recently.

What I Learned from reading “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Anderson

1. Being in love with someone doesn’t always mean that you end up with them.
2. Sometimes loving someone means acting in their best interest, even if the decision causes you pain.
3. A soul is the most valuable thing of all.
