I was looking through the books I got while I was in college and found a collection of Edgar Allen Poe’s poetry and short stories. I’ve already read “The Raven”, “The Cask of Amontillado”, “A Tell-Tale Heart”, and “The Fall of the House of Usher” so I decided to start with one I hadn’t read yet. I might group some of the short stories together since they take less time to read than a whole novel.
What I Learned From Reading The Purloined Letter by Edgar Allen Poe:
- Edgar Allen Poe did not just write gothic horror, even though that is what he is most famous for.
- Sometimes author’s give explanations that are way more complicated than they have to be.
- The truth is often hidden in plain sight.
