Explanation: The couple that slays together stays together. The reason why I like this dynamic is that both parties usually have a strong, fire-forged bond from being in so many battles together. They rely on and respect each other and look cool while doing it. Neither party loses their badassery once romance gets involved, which is something that sometimes happens in romance. Sometimes one of the love interests, usually the woman, starts out incredibly smart, competent, and powerful. But once their love interest comes into the picture, they suddenly become less competent and become a damsel in distress for their love interest to save. Most Battle Couples avoid this by keeping both parties competent and having them save each other when necessary.
