‘You’re going to need a lot more than just this,’ I thought.
I ascended back into the Void and looked at my planet. It was too large for just those two humans.
‘I want to add more creatures but those two will need something to eat………Eat? Yep, that proves it. Since I still don’t know what so many of these words mean I need to make more stuff.’
The next thing I made was a combination of light and fire. I called it the sun. I spun the planet on its axis before pushing it around the newly made ball of light in an ellipse. From doing this I created the seasons, day and night, as well as time. To feed my humans I created many tiny green things and placed them all over the planet, including in its waters. Plants. The green things were plants. There were many kinds of plants I made. Some grew flowers, some bared fruit, some could be used to build things, and some were good for medicine. As I touched each plant I felt the life within them. It made me so happy.
Every once in a while I’d check in on my humans. At the moment they were building themselves a shelter. As they worked I ensured that no rain would disturb them and every day I’d leave some fruit for them to eat. However, I had my own work to do. Two by two I created new creatures to live on the earth with my humans. There were ones that walked on two legs, some on eight, four, or even a hundred! Some of them didn’t even have legs. Some instead had wings or fins! Some were colorful while others were dull. I designed each one by hand and I gave them homes to live in. Mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds, and invertebrates, I made them all! As I welcomed each into the world they seemed to bow to my presence before they went to the home I had given them, almost as if I was their God.
‘God…..?’ I wondered to myself. ‘I created them. I guess that’s what I am.’
I continued to patrol the planet. As I flew through the air in my physical form I added new environments, but my main project was different. I was creating a few new groups of people. The first I made were the Faunis. For the most part, they looked a lot like humans but they also had the physical characteristics of animals. I decided to have a little fun while I was making them. There were cat Faunis, monkey Faunis, bird Faunis, insect faunis, dragon Faunis and so many more.
The next group of people I made I called the Elves. Again, they looked a lot like humans except for their ears which were pointy. When I made them I was experimenting with a new force I had created from Energy. It was called Magic. I decided to add it to them.
For one of the last few people I created, I decided to give them both magic and wings. I made these creatures primarily out of Light and they lived extremely long lives. I called them the Angelis. I formed more Earth from the Void and instead of placing it on the planet, I made it float in the sky amongst the clouds. I placed them on this floating island and watched as they made it home.
I made a few other races during this period. I made mermaids which I put in the seas, many different kinds of nymphs, and so on. As I sat back amongst the stars and watched the animals and races grow and multiply, I thought that they were multiplying rather quickly. But then again, with the creation of time, it seemed that what was a minute to me could easily be a century for them. I was about to get up to fix this before thinking about it more and shrugging.
‘Maybe I’ll do it later. I have all the time in the universe, don’t I?’
