Of Shades and Primaries: Green

A collection of poems I made back when I had a fixation on colors and the personalities and meanings associated with them

Green

I am one of the Secondaries

Give me one moment, I must tend to my canaries

Nature has created some beautiful things don’t you think?

It’s a shame how easily it disappears within a blink

We should work to keep the balance

If we destroy it all….for the after effects we won’t have the endurance

I guess you could say that I’m one of the peacemakers

Unlike the other colors, I’m not really one of those movers and shakers

I’d rather be accepted than be at odds

Though a little appreciation would be nice, just someone’s applauds

Still, the others are my friends, and they have all my love

I represent prosperity and abundance, something I’m very proud of

Since I have so much to give, I give a lot

But I’m not really one of the big shots

Not everyone likes me, they say I’m too much of a martyr

Or I easily get envious and my smile turns into a sneer

I’m also very possessive and sometimes like my money too much

I worry about fitting in and falling out of touch

The lush carpet of grass that during summers can be seen

Hello, I’m GREEN
