Of Shades and Primaries: Yellow

A collection of poems I made back when I had a fixation on colors and the personalities and meanings associated with them

Yellow

I’m one of the Primaries

A lot of my friends happen to be Secondaries

Forgive me if while we talk I work on these plans

After all, someone has to analyze these scans

If you study it enough, the universe has a lot of knowledge to impart

This brings me much joy, but I think it’s better to think with the mind rather than the heart

Don’t be fooled by how I speak, I’m a color of a lighter hue

I’m usually quite cheerful, I’m not just a solemn logic guru

It’s much better to be happy and look at the bright side

A little joy and hope can often turn the tide

I’m quite proud of the color that I am

In fact, the amount of pride I have in what I do could overflow a dam.

However, I admit, though unlike Red I am not abrasive,

But despite my smarts, I’m a bit impulsive

I often represent caution, but sometimes that changes into being cowardly

Sadly, that trait can often give results that are quite dastardly

I’m also a source of anxiety

For this, I am of prominent notoriety

The sun and the bright days considered quite mellow

Hey, I’m YELLOW
