Of Shades and Primaries: Gray

A collection of poems I made back when I had a fixation on colors and the personalities and meanings associated with them

Gray

I’m one of the Shades

I’m indifferent to the Primaries and Secondaries, I do not join in their promenades

Since you’re here have a seat, but it’s not like I care

I don’t really feel like giving you Red’s fanfare

The other colors tend to be quite polarizing

My job here is to be neutralizing

Around here I try to keep the peace

If I didn’t provide stability, the chaos would never cease

Doing my job requires emotional restraint

I must, because some colors are always ready with their war paint

I relieve stress and can make clear judgments

It’s tiring ,but if I don’t, there will be many incidents

I prefer to stay out of it

For me, neutrality is the best fit

I admit though, it gets a bit lonely

I’m often described as being boring and homely

At times I’m also indecisive

To add to this I’m not very creative

The overcast clouds that hide a sunny day

Salutations, I’m……GRAY
